New book: Compassion or Competition

Pleasure to announce that at the occasion of the visit of H.H. the Dalai Lama to the Netherlands, my book Compassion or Competition has been republished. The book contains the proceedings of three unique public meetings with the Dalai Lama and leaders in business, economics and society, held between 1999 and 2009.Sander&HH_book1When I offered the book to the Dalai Lama on his visit to Rotterdam, he said: “It is in the interest of business that their employees cultivate the qualities of theirhearts. In the modern age, which is both increasing the speed of business but also the transparency of business, it is increasingly important that people develop positive emotions such as empathy, a sense of responsibility and ethics. Without this they will not be motivated or capable to give their best to the company that they work for”.

I rejoice that this book from ten years of dialogues with the Dalai Lama help us to understand we need to integrate compassion into our economy. Ruud Lubbers, Former Prime Minister of the Netherlands

This book provides inspiration for the new consideration of the purpose of business, the tremendous potential to be an influence for good. Jermyn Brooks, former Global Managing Partner PriceWaterhouseCoopers
