Gross National Happiness – Leadership Journey

Deep blue skies, white mountaintops, colorful prayer flags and chanting monks. These formed the backdrop for 15 business people who felt like pilgrims on a two-week journey through the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan. We explored the concept of Gross National Happiness. Could Bhutan be a role model for solving the crisis in modern capitalism? Is a world of happiness possible? We looked at our own mindsets and beliefs, the challenges we face in our lives and business. On long quiet walks we found inspiration from beautiful untouched nature and gentle people, fed by an authentic culture rooted in principles of Buddhism. We met government officials and Buddhist lama’s. After spending a day in total silence and meditation on a holy mountain, many of us found new insights and inspiration for the way ahead – both for ourselves as leaders and for our world.

This was our 5th Inner Leadership Journey to amazing places in this world, and will not be our last. Our next journey to Bhutan will be from Nov 20- Dec 3, 2013. Hope you will join us!
